Frequently Asked Questions

I serve clients online across Arkansas and Mississippi. Sessions are conducted via secure, HIPAA-compliant video calls, so you can join from the comfort of your own home.

We will meet face-to-face over a HIPAA-compliant video platform. After completing all the necessary paperwork, you will receive a link to the virtual waiting room.

Grab your favorite blanket and a cup of coffee (or other non-alcoholic beverage), and snuggle into your favorite couch, chair, or bed. We’re good to go as long as it’s private and quiet!

I offer flexible scheduling to accommodate busy lives, including weekday mornings, afternoons, and occasional evening appointments.

Most sessions are 60 minutes, giving us enough time to do meaningful work while respecting your schedule. For clients who need additional support during major life transitions, 90-minute sessions are also available depending on your payment arrangement.

Yes! I’m in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) and can help clients with other insurance providers through Mentaya.

If your plan is out-of-network, I can provide a Superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. My goal is to make starting therapy as simple and stress-free as possible so you can focus on your healing journey.

Starting therapy is a step toward taking care of yourself, and I make it as simple and welcoming as possible. You can reach out through the contact form, by email, or by phone, and we’ll find a time for your first session that works for your schedule.

During our first session, we’ll focus on you – your experiences, your goals, and what’s brought you to therapy. My role is to create a safe, supportive space where you can begin to explore your thoughts and emotions without judgment. Together, we’ll start building a plan that feels manageable, empowering, and tailored to your needs, so you leave the session feeling heard, understood, and ready to take the next steps in your journey.

To keep your treatment plan on track, I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. This gives me a chance to offer that time to another client who may need support.

If an appointment is missed without notice, a fee will be charged. This is the only time a fee applies, and it helps ensure that our time together remains consistent and available for those who need it.

I am a licensed therapist with specialized training in grief, trauma-informed care, mindfulness, parts work, and I am Enneagram certified. My personal journey has also shaped my approach – I have been a widow twice and have navigated life as a single mother after the loss of both of my husbands.

This combination of professional expertise and lived experience allows me to support clients through grief, life transitions, relational challenges, and emotional growth with understanding, empathy, and practical guidance.

I primarily work with adults (25+).

I work with women, men, and individuals navigating relational challenges. My focus is on individual therapy, but I occasionally work with couples when appropriate.

In therapy, sessions are a collaborative and safe space where we explore your thoughts, emotions, and life experiences. I guide clients with compassion, helping them make sense of past events, understand the different “parts” of themselves, and develop tools to cope with life’s challenges.

Having navigated the loss of both of my husbands and life as a single mother, I bring personal understanding of grief, transitions, and emotional complexity to my work. I know how overwhelming it can feel to carry sadness, guilt, or fear while still trying to manage daily life. In sessions, we may reflect on past experiences, work with internal parts, practice mindfulness and grounding techniques, or gently process grief and trauma – all at a pace that feels safe for you.

My goal is to help you gain insight, build resilience, and feel empowered in your journey. Therapy is not just about managing symptoms – it’s about discovering strength, reclaiming balance, and creating space for hope, growth, and meaningful change.

From time to time, I may suggest reflective exercises, journaling prompts, or mindfulness practices to support your growth between sessions. These assignments are never mandatory – they are simply tools to help you explore your thoughts, emotions, and patterns at your own pace.

My approach is always guided by compassion and understanding. The goal is to provide gentle support and structure that helps you practice new skills, deepen insight, and continue healing between sessions. You can choose what feels helpful, and we can discuss your experiences together in our next session, so the work you do outside of therapy always feels manageable and meaningful.

I integrate trauma-informed therapy, EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy), mindfulness, parts work (Internal Family Systems), and creative expression practices. My approach is relational, grounded in your unique experience, and tailored to meet your needs.

Your effort and openness make a difference!

  • Be honest with yourself and me about what you need.
  • Stay curious about your inner experience.
  • Engage with reflection or exercises between sessions if they resonate.

Not at all! Therapy is for anyone who feels stuck, lost, or overwhelmed – even if you don’t have a clear plan or all the answers. All you need to do is show up, and we’ll figure it out together.

Everyone’s journey is unique. Some people notice small shifts within a few sessions, while deeper, lasting changes often take time and regular work. The most important factors are consistency, openness, and patience – change happens as you engage with the process and give yourself the space to grow.

I’m a therapist, not a magician! While we meet for sessions, the rest of the week – all six days and 23 hours – is where your commitment and effort really matter.

Therapy works best when you’re motivated and ready to engage in the process. Change can be challenging, but it’s also possible and worthwhile. Together, we’ll navigate difficulties without overcomplicating solutions – focusing on progress, not perfection.

Yes! I believe in the transformative power of therapy and have personally benefited from it. I’ve learned firsthand how important it is to have a team of people in your corner – advocates, supporters, and encouragers – to help navigate life’s uncertain and sometimes surprising journey. Experiencing therapy myself helps me bring empathy, insight, and authenticity to my work with clients.

Only if you want to. Dreams can be insightful, but they’re never required in our work together.

They’re always soft and reliable – because emotions happen. However, you should supply your own in your chosen spot for our meetings.

Absolutely. Comfort items like tea, coffee, or cozy blankets are welcome. This is your space.

I spend time with my grandchildren, children, family, and friends.  I take road trips to see family and friends.  I love Neurographica art, writing, and visiting quaint coffee shops. I also enjoy listening to books and podcasts.

Yes… sometimes! I usually keep my shoes tucked neatly under my table, ready if I need them, but most of the time my feet are enjoying a little freedom. Don’t worry – they’re always close by and behave themselves!

Mostly water… but depending on the day, you might catch me sipping coffee, sparkling water, tea, or even milk. I like to keep things interesting — just like therapy!
