About Therapy

Therapy is like a dragonfly’s journey.
For years, the dragonfly lives unseen beneath the surface of the water.
But eventually, it rises and learns to fly.
You and I?
We’ll walk through that underwater stage together – slowly, intentionally, at your pace – until you’re ready to surface and spread your wings.

It’s your life, so what that looks like is up to you.
I’m here to guide, notice the subtle shifts, and remind you that even when you can’t see it, change is happening beneath the surface.
We’ll share real moments. We might laugh together, cry together, or sit in silence while something tender unfolds.
Sometimes, therapy is gentle; other times, it stretches you.
But through it all, I’ll meet you with honesty and compassion.

What you’re carrying may always be part of your story.
Whether that’s grief, loss, or a life transition…
But it doesn’t have to weigh you down forever.
You don’t need perfect conditions to transform – you just need a safe place to land, some guidance, and time.
Therapy is that place where your wings can begin to unfold.

We’ll create space for your full self.
Your sorrow.
Your questions.
Your struggle.
And yes, even your humor.
Together, we’ll notice what helps you breathe a little easier, what helps you release the pressure, and what helps you rise – bit by bit – into a life that feels lighter and truer to you.
Between sessions, you might find yourself thinking, “I can’t wait to share this with Angela,” or “Angela will understand why this small step feels so big.”
And that’s exactly how it should be.
You don’t have to do this alone.
Not anymore.
This is your journey…
I’m honored to walk it alongside you.
Let’s discover your wings… together.

About Angela Stuart-Jackson LPC, NCC

I go to therapy, too!
Many therapists go to therapy to “work on their own stuff.”
I think of it like composting (stay with me here):
We all have experiences, emotions, and challenges that pile up over time. Therapy gives me a chance to take that “pile” and turn it into rich soil – nourishment that helps me grow, transform, and show up fully for others.
Some of my professional background…
My first career was in public school education, where I developed a deep appreciation for how people learn, adapt, and make meaning of their experiences. After several years of teaching, I chose to stay home with my two daughters. During that time, I experienced profound loss when my first husband passed away while our children were still very young.
After remarrying and later homeschooling my daughters, I transitioned into nonprofit work. When my second husband passed away, I felt a clear calling to return to school and deepen my ability to support others through loss and transition. In 2016, I entered graduate school to begin that next chapter.
After earning my master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, I worked with school-aged children who had experienced trauma. I later joined a group practice, where I supported individuals navigating grief, trauma, loss, depression, anxiety, and relationship challenges.
Several years later, I returned to my home state to be closer to my aging parents and grandchildren. It was then that I felt called to open my own private practice – creating a space that feels less like a clinic and more like a sanctuary, where healing can unfold with care, presence, and intention.
These are my credentials:
- Master of Science Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy
- Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
- National Certified Counselor (NCC)
- Grief Therapy as Meaning Reconstruction Certification (GTMR)
- The Enneagram: A Modality for Trauma Treatment Certification (EMTT)
- Enneagram Informed Mental Health Professional (EIMHP)
When I’m not doing therapy…
I’m most at home in the roles that ground me – being a grandmother, mother, daughter, and wife. These relationships shape my days and continually teach me about love, patience, humility, and connection. They bring deep joy, honest challenges, and moments that remind me what truly matters.
I also cherish quiet, reflective spaces. There’s something deeply restoring about a cool morning on a porch swing; a warm breve in hand; with a book, journal, favorite writing tools, and a sketchbook close by. These moments of stillness allow me to listen inward, create, and reconnect with myself.
I enjoy challenging myself with physical and somatic practices that support strength, mobility, and mental clarity. Staying engaged with my body helps me remain present and resilient – both in daily life and in the work I do with others.
I’m drawn to discovery – whether through movement, conversation, creativity, nature, or contemplation. I value experiences that deepen my understanding of myself, others, and God, inviting curiosity, meaning, and presence into everyday life.
